Hunter Foster to Direct Two Musicals for the Bucks County Playhouse 2015-16 Season

Bucks County Playhouse has announced three musicals and two plays for its 2015-16 season.
Tony nominee Hunter Foster (The Bridges of Madison County, Little Shop of Horrors) will direct the season's opening production, National Pastime, described as "a musical valentine to love, baseball and the American Dream." Performances will run from April 2-19, featuring music and lyrics by Al Tapper, a book by Tony Sportiello, and choreography by Lorin Latarro.
Company, Stephen Sondheim's musical homage to marriage, will follow with a run from May 29-June 21. Hunter Foster and Lorin Latarro will return to BCP as director and choreographer, respectively.
Ernest Thompson's On Golden Pond will be the theater's next offering, running from July 10-August 2, followed by the 1928 musical comedy Animal Crackers, set to run from August 14-September 6. Director Henry Wishcamper has adapted the original production, featuring a book by George S. Kaufman and Morrie Ryskind, and music and lyrics by Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby.
For the holidays, BCP will present It's A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, running from December 11-27.
The theater will also produce its second annual Oscar Hammerstein Festival for lyricists in the fall, offering public presentations and mentorship for early career composers and lyricists.
