Hugh Panaro to Receive Edwin Forrest Award at Walnut Street Theatre Gala

Broadway veteran Hugh Panaro will receive the Edwin Forrest Award at Walnut Street Theatre‘s 203rd Anniversary Gala, to be held on the theater’s Mainstage on Friday, May 11, at 7:30pm.

Panaro is currently performing the title role in The Phantom of the Opera at Broadway’s Majestic Theatre. Additional Broadway credits include Lestat, Side Show, and Les Miserables. He won a Barrymore Award for his performance as Jean Valjean in Walnut Street Theatre’s production of Les Miserables.

The actor will perform at the event, along with Rachel Camp, Sarah Gliko, Scott Greer, Danielle Herbert, Ben Lipitz, Michael Philip O’Brien, Lyn Philistine, Christopher Sutton, Denise Whelan and the Walnut casts of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s A Grand Night for Singing.

All proceeds from the Gala benefit the Walnut Street Theatre’s Education and Outreach programming, which reaches over 110,000 children annually in the Delaware Valley.
