The Dorrance H. Hamilton Rooftop Garden at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts will reopen on September 4 following a year-long renovation. The project cost $5.7 million, and the garden will now be open to the public daily from 10am to 6pm. Free tours will be available when the garden is not being used for private functions. BLT Architects served as the project's architecture team.

The high-tech, multi-purpose space can be used for special events, corporate meetings, dinner parties, and receptions. The garden features theatrical lighting at each of its four corners, LED lighting for visual effects, and an acoustically isolated hardwood maple floor. Enhanced features include a new acoustically treated glass box structure, which allows for quality year-round climate and sound controlled, as well as views of Philadelphia's Avenue of the Arts.

The rooftop garden will feature private dinner party catering by Food Network Iron Chef Jose Garces.
