Casting has been announced for the Azuka Theatre’s staged reading of Le Rue des Faux, Raelle Myrick-Hodges’ adaptation of James Baldwin’s Giovanni’s Room, to be offered on March 9 at 7pm at the Latvian Society of Philadelphia. Myrick-Hodges will direct the performance.

Set in Paris in 1962, La Rue des Faux follows David, a young American, who denies his love for the handsome Giovanni and finds himself grappling with the consequences of that decision.

The play was the first piece that the theater produced, and the reading is being held in celebration of the company’s 10th anniversary. The company will feature original cast members Kevin Glaccum and Tyler Melchior along with Brian Cowden, Mike Dees, Allison Heishman, Janice Rowland, Amanda Schoonover, and Mikaal Sulaiman.
