Bucks County Playhouse has announced that Tony Award nominee Will Swenson (Murder Ballad) will headline its previously announced fall production of The Rocky Horror Show, as “sweet transvestite” Dr. Frank N. Furter. Nick Cearley and Lauren Molina of the scantily clad musical group The Skivvies will star alongside Swenson as the wholesome couple, Brad and Janet. The two find shelter from a rainstorm in a mysterious old castle filled with a wide array of eccentric characters.

“We are thrilled that this all-star Broadway cast and creative team is as excited as we are to bring this New Hope tradition back to the Playhouse,” said Producing Director Jed Bernstein.

The Rocky Horror Show, featuring a book and score by Richard O’Brien, is a staged musical inspired by the 1975 cult classic film The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The Bucks County production, helmed by Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster (Hands on a Hardbody), will run from October 23-November 2, with special select late-night showings.
