Murder Mystery Game Clue to Be Adapted for the Stage

The Araca Group and Hasbro Inc. have announced plans to bring the popular board game and subsequent 1985 film Clue to the stage. The impending play marks the second live entertainment project between Araca and Hasbro, following the Broadway-bound musical adaptation of Monopoly, announced earlier this year.
The play will be penned by the film's writer and director Jonathan Lynn and produced in partnership with Work Light Productions and Aged In Wood, under license from Hasbro, Inc. and Paramount Pictures. Bucks County Playhouse will present the premiere production in May 2017, directed by Tony nominee Hunter Foster (The Bridges of Madison County), followed by a U.S. national tour, planned by the Road Company. Plans for a U.K. tour are also underway. Three-time Tony nominee Anna Louizos (Holiday Inn) will design the set.
Directed by Jonathan Lynn and written by Lynn and John Landis, the 1985 film Clue starred Eileen Brennan, Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Martin Mull, and Lesley Ann Warren. The story takes place in a New England mansion where six strangers bearing the Hasbro board game's iconic names are invited to a party that turns into a comical murder mystery.
