American Alphabet, Biloxi Blues, Children of a Lesser God Set for "Beth Marshall Presents" Season

Beth Marshall has announced the 2012-2013 season of “Beth Marshall Presents” theatrical productions in Central Florida.The season will kick off in the fall of 2012 (date to be announced) with the annual Play-In-A-Day festival, which will feature 40 theater artists working together to write, rehearse, tech, and perform 5 original, 10-minute plays within a 24-hour time frame.

The season will continue at Lowndes Shakespeare Center’s Mandell Theatre, which will play host to American Alphabet, Lisa Cordes’ exploration of her family tree and race and sex in America, from her slave-owning great-great-grandfather through the election of Barack Obama. The production will run January 17-20.

Next up is Biloxi Blues by Neil Simon, directed by Rob Anderson, running February 8-24 at the Garden Theatre. The Garden Theatre will also house Marshall’s production of Mark Medoff’s Children of a Lesser God, from March 15-31.

Additionally, a touring season featuring original shows by Paul Strickland, as well as two new original works, will be announced at a later date.
