Multiple Emmy Award-winner Ed Asner will star in the solo drama, FDR, at the Cleveland Playhouse’s Bolton Theatre, on Saturday, September 25 at 8pm.

Based upon Dore Schary’s Broadway hit Sunrise at Campobello, the piece explores the life of one of America’s best-loved presidents and the events and decisions that shaped a nation. The play follows Franklin Delano Roosevelt as he reflects on his years in office, from inauguration to the trials of World War II.

Asner has toured FDR extensively, and will be presenting the Cleveland engagement as part of Heritage Week at The Cleveland Play House.

The actor is the recipient of seven Emmy Awards, and received another 16 Emmy nominations, as well as five Golden Globe Awards. His New York City theater credits include Ivanov, The Tempest, Face of a Hero, King Henry V, and Born Yesterday. He is perhaps best known for his work on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
