The York Theatre Company concert production of Hallelujah, Baby! (Concert Production) opened January 28 for its limited run through February 4 at Saint Peter's. Stephanie Umoh (Junk) and two-time Tony Award nominee Vivian Reed (Bubbling Brown Sugar) will lead the cast, which will include Jennifer Cody, Randy Donaldson, Bernard Dotson, Latoya Edwards, Michael Thomas Holmes, and Tally Sessions. Gerry McIntyre will direct, with music direction by David Hancock Turner.

Along with Jule Styne's music, Hallelujah, Baby! features lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and a book by Arthur Laurents. This presentation will mark the New York premiere of the revised version Laurents created for productions at the George Street Playhouse and Arena Stage in 2004 and 2005, with additional lyrics by Amanda Green.
