The York Theatre Company has announced the complete cast for its New2NY Series presentation of the new musical How to Be an American!, a political cabaret based on Plunkitt of Tammany Hall — A Series of Very Plain Talks on Very Practical Politics, adapted by T. Cat Ford. The production will run September 17-25 at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter’s.

The four-member cast is set to include Broadway's Tim Jerome (The Lyons) as George Washington Plunkitt, D.C. Anderson as Rev. Dr. Parkhurst, Dan Manjovi as Aaron Jefferson Levi, and Frank J. Paul as Tony Caponi.

In How to Be an American!, the year is 1905. Tammany Hall politician George Washington Plunkitt has gathered a group of new immigrants for the purpose of educating them on the subtleties of the American political system one week before the next New York City election.

The score features songs from the early 20th century American Songbook arranged by Satomi Hoffman (The Phantom of the Opera). Directed by Bill Castellino (Cagney), the show features music direction by Ryan Touhey (Nightclub Cantata). Lighting will be by John Salutz.
