The Maltby and Shire revue Starting Here, Starting Now will be featured as part of the York Theatre Company's annual Musicals in Mufti series, set to run March 12-20, 2016.

With music by David Shire and lyrics and direction by Richard Maltby Jr., the show explores the ups and downs of romantic relationships, from first kiss to painful breakup. Starting Here, Starting Now was first produced in 1976 by Manhattan Theatre Club, and later moved for a 120-performance commercial run at the Barbarann Theater Restaurant.

Also on the Mufti list is the revue Don't Bother Me, I Can't Cope, written by Micki Grant, conceived by Vinnette Carroll, and directed by Leslie Dockery. Running February 27-March 6, the five-time Tony Award nominated musical from 1972 has the distinction of being the first Broadway musical to be written entirely by a woman and the first Broadway production to be directed by a female African-American.

The York Theatre Company’s Musicals in Mufti series of musical theatre gems, performed in a simply-staged, book-in-hand concert format, celebrates its twenty-first historic year with the these presentations, the 102nd and 103rd shows in its series.
