The Public Theater announced that the run of the encore engagement of Tiny Beautiful Things will be extended by four weeks. Originally scheduled to end on November 12, it will now run through December 10. Opening night is still set for October 2.

Based on the book by Cheryl Strayed, adapted for the stage by Nia Vardalos, coconceived by Marshall Heyman, Thomas Kail, and Vardalos, and directed by Kail, Tiny Beautiful Things returns after a sold-out run at the Public in fall 2016.

Vardalos will reprise her role of Sugar in this production. The rest of the show's cast will feature Teddy Cañez, Ceci Fernandez, DeLance Minefee, Hubert Point-Du Jour, and Natalie Woolams-Torres.

The play is described as follows: "As anonymous readers come to her with their deepest and most personal problems, Sugar — who ultimately revealed herself to be Strayed — finds a way to weave her own life experiences together with theirs, creating a beloved column about the monstrous beauty, endless dark and glimmering light at the heart of being human."

Tiny Beautiful Things features scenic design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Jennifer Moeller, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, and sound design by Jill B.C. Du Boff.
