The New Group has released production photos from its off-Broadway production of Sweet Charity, starring Tony winner Sutton Foster. The currently running musical is set to play through January 8 at the Pershing Square Signature Center following a November 20 opening. In addition, a special benefit performance will take place on January 5 at 7:30pm, with all proceeds benefiting the New Group's musical development and education programs.

Sweet Charity is directed by Leigh Silverman, with choreography by Joshua Bergasse. In addition to Foster, who takes on the title role, the cast includes Asmeret Ghebremichael (The Book of Mormon) as Nickie, Tony winner Shuler Hensley (Waiting for Godot) as Oscar, Sasha Hutchings (Hamilton) as Rosie, Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Women on the Verge…) as Ursula, Emily Padgett (Bright Star) as Helene, and Joel Perez (Fun Home) as Herman, Vittorio, and Daddy Brubeck. The ensemble will also include Yesenia Ayala, Darius Barnes, Cody Williams, Donald Jones Jr., and James Brown III, with Lori Ann Ferreri and Ryan Worsing as swings.

Featuring a book by Neil Simon, music by Cy Coleman, and lyrics by Dorothy Fields, the show is timed to the 50th anniversary of the classic musical. The story follows Charity Hope Valentine (Foster), the sassy, diehard romantic dancehall hostess whose naivety and overeager embrace of every man she meets keeps getting her in hot water.

LaPointe, make-up design by Joe Dulude II, orchestrations by Mary-Mitchell Campbell and music direction by Georgia Stitt.
