Rotating Casting Announced for NYC Premiere of Leslye Headland's Surfer Girl

Animus Theatre Company is currently presenting the New York premiere of Leslye Headland's Surfer Girl at the Foley Gallery.
The experimental production features multiple actors performing the show under the direction of one of four different directors. The actors include Amy Northup (May 1-2), Sarah Utterback of Grey's Anatomy (May 8-9), Jazmin Williams (May 15-16), Sara Canter (May 22-23), and Jessica Pimentel of Orange Is the New Black (May 29-30). Utterback first performed the play during its world premiere run in Los Angeles in 2009.
Surfer Girl is part of Headland's "Seven Deadly Plays" cycle. It is described as follows: "Not exactly homeless, never quite broke, always ready to become whomever she needs to be in order to stick around just that little bit longer, Surfer Girl chronicles a young woman's affectless journey through life as she combats that passively inert state of mind that gives rise to her loss of self and to…couch surfing."
