Gera Sandler has joined the cast of the upcoming Yiddish world premiere of Eugene Ionesco's Rhinoceros. Performances are set to begin September 7, with an opening on September 14 at the Castillo Theatre. Directed by Moshe Yassur, New Yiddish Rep's revival will be performed in Yiddish with English supertitles.

Sandler joins the cast in the role of Dudard. The cast will also include Alec Burko, Amy Coleman, Macha Fogel, Sean Griffin, Malky Goldman, Chezky Israeli, Caraid O’Brien, David Mandelbaum, Eli Rosen, Luzer Twersky, and Melissa Weisz.

Rhinoceros is making its Yiddish-language debut with a translation by Eli Rosen. The work is described as a play in which the "sublime is merged with the ridiculous in this savage commentary on the human condition, in which an individual citizen of a small town watches his friends turn into rhinoceroses one by one until he alone stands unchanged."
