Kate Burton, Marin Ireland, and More Set for Red Bull Theater's 2018-19 Season

The full slate of Revelation Readings — including a recently discovered Edith Wharton play — plus two full productions in the spring have been announced.

Red Bull Theater has announced the rest of its 2018-19 season, which will begin on October 15 with a previously announced one-night-only benefit reading of Noël Coward's Tonight at 8:30.

First up is the full slate of the upcoming season's Revelation Readings, all of which will take place on Monday evenings at 7:30pm at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The lineup will include:

November 12: Thomas Kyd's The Spanish Tragedy; directed by Louisa Proske; starring Matthew Amendt, Tina Benko, Emily Swallow, James Udom, and Olivier Award winner Chukwudi Iwuji

December 10: the New York premiere of Lauren Gunderson's The Book of Will; directed by Davis McCallum; starring Marco Barricelli, Jennifer LeBlanc, Triney Sandoval, and more

January 28: the New York premiere of Edith Wharton's recently discovered The Shadow of a Doubt; directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt; starring Emily Brown, Kate Burton, Marin Ireland, and Jay O. Sanders

February 25: Mike Poulton's new version of Friedrich Schiller's Don Carlos, directed by Jesse Berger, and starring Patrick Page (Hadestown)

March 25: Aphra Behn's Sir Patient Fancy, directed by Leigh Silverman, starring Lea DeLaria (Collective Rage: A Play in 5 Betties)

April 15: the New York premiere of Cathy Tempelsman's A Most Dangerous Woman; directed by Pamela Berlin; starring Nick Choksi, Stephen DeRosa, Ben Mehl, Rachel Pickup, and Derek Smith

May 13: the New York premiere of Amy Freed's Shrew!; directed by Doug Hughes (Doubt); starring Dakin Matthews, Danny Scheie, and more

June 24: the world premiere of Jeffrey Hatcher's adaptation of Ben Jonson's The Alchemist, directed by Jesse Berger, and starring Reg Rogers

July 15: the ninth annual Short New Play Festival, directed by May Adrales and Vivienne Benesch

Red Bull Theater has also announced its two mainstage productions of the spring: John Webster's The White Devil (March 19, 2019-April 14, 2019), directed by Louisa Proske; and Mac Beth (May 7, 2019-June 2, 2019), adapted and directed by Erica Schmidt. The cast and creative teams for both shows will be announced shortly.
