Penny Arcade, Tania El Khoury, and More Set for 2019 Under the Radar Festival

The annual event, presented by the Public Theater, will also feature works by Manual Cinema, Ifeoma Fafunwa, and more.

The Public Theater has announced the full lineup for the 2019 Under the Radar Festival, running January 3-13, 2019. The 15th annual festival will comprise works by theater artists and companies from across the United States and countries such as France, Nigeria, and Palestine. Mark Russell serves as festival director.

Highlights include Ifeoma Fafunwa's Hear Word! Naija Women Talk True, Manual Cinema's Frankenstein, and Tania El Khoury's As Far as My Fingertips Take Me. Penny Arcade, Meow Meow, and the Chekhov Project will perform as part of the festival's concert series at Joe's Pub. And the Devised Theater Working Group's Incoming! series will present works-in-progress by Whitney White, Aya Ogawa, Lorelei Ramirez, and more.

Over the last 15 years, the Public's Under the Radar festival has presented over 255 companies from 45 countries. It has grown into a landmark of the New York City theater season and is a vital part of the Public's mission, providing a high-visibility platform to support artists from diverse backgrounds who are redefining the act of making theater.
