Fallen Angel Theatre Company will produce the New York premiere production of My Brilliant Divorce, a solo show written by Olivier-nominated playwright Geraldine Aron (The Galway Girl) and starring Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominee Melissa Gilbert (The Dead, 1904; Little House on the Prairie). Directed by Aedín Moloney, My Brilliant Divorce begins performances March 15 at the New Ohio Theatre in advance of a March 20 opening, and will run through April 8.

The story is described as follows: "New Yorker Rachel Lipsky Haringay is divorced and abandoned by her irritatingly round-headed British husband of many years after he discloses his Argentine lover, 'Rosa the Posa.' Now alone in London, Rachel is left to deal with an empty nest, a disapproving mother, a misogynous lawyer, some dubious counselors, a bad case of hypochondria, and the specter of poverty. With only the family dog Axal for company, Rachel mourns her marriage, picks up the pieces and learns to live whole again."

The creative team will feature set design by John McDermott, lighting design by Jessica Kasprisin, sound design by M. Florian Staab, costume design by Nikki Delhomme, and props design by Eileen Connolly.

My Brilliant Divorce premiered in Ireland’s Druid Theatre, followed by a West End transfer that earned the play an Olivier nomination for Best Entertainment.
