Kristine Nielsen, Carolyn McCormick, and More Set for What I Did Last Summer

A.R. Gurney’s drama is to be directed by Jim Simpson for Signature Theatre.

Casting has been announced for A.R. Gurney's What I Did Last Summer, a production of Signature Theatre to be directed by Jim Simpson. The production runs from April 28-June 7, with a May 17 opening night in the Irene Diamond Stage at the Pershing Square Signature Center.

What I Did Last Summer is described as follows: "With her husband overseas near the end of World War II, Grace fights to save the splintering bonds of her family by taking her teenage son and daughter to spend the summer on Lake Erie. When her son takes up with the town outcast, the entire family must confront the expectations of a society that holds conformity in the highest regard. Grace finds that her attempt to restore normalcy may have only fractured their relationships further.

The cast includes Pico Alexander (Punk Rock) as Ted, Juliet Brett (The Jacksonian) as Bonny, Noah Galvin (Love and Information) as Charlie, Carolyn McCormick (The Open House) as Grace, Kate McGonigle as Elsie, and Tony Award nominee Kristine Nielsen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike) as Anna Trumbull.

The design team includes Michael Yeargan (scenic design), Claudia Brown (costume design), Brian Aldous (lighting design), Janie Bullard (sound design), and John Narun (projection design).
