Broadway Dance Center will host a series of sessions with Smokey Joe's Cafe director and choreographer Joshua Bergasse on September 1 and 4.

Part of the Broadway Choreography Series, Bergasse will teach the steps to "On Broadway," on September 1, 10:30am-noon, and "Teach Me How to Shimmy" on September 4, 6pm-7:30pm. Cast members John Edwards, Jelani Remy, and Shavey Brown will take part in the first class, while Emma Degerstedt and Bronwyn Tarboton will be on hand for the second. Regular drop-in rates apply.

With soulful ballads rooted in blues, legendary songwriting duo Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller's songs are described as illuminating the wide range of the human experience, celebrating the humor, passion, and heartbreak that infuse everyday lives. Smokey Joe's Cafe features more than 30 classic songs including "Stand by Me," "I'm a Woman," "Hound Dog," "Fools Fall in Love," and more. The show was co-conceived by Stephen Helper and Jack Viertel.
