Jason Butler Harner, Amanda Quaid Set for Cock Off-Broadway

Jason Butler Harner, Amanda Quaid, Cory Michael Smith, and Cotter Smith will star in the American premiere of Mike Bartlett’s play, Cock, when it plays Off-Broadway at the Duke on 42nd Street. James Macdonald directs the Royal Court Theatre’s Olivier Award-winning production, which begins previews on May 1, with an opening on May 17.

In the play, when John and his boyfriend take a break, the last thing he expects is to suddenly meet the woman of his dreams. Now he has a big choice to make.

Harner’s numerous stage credits include The Coast of Utopia on Broadway, his Obie-winning performance of Hedda Gabler at New York Theatre Workshop, and his Drama Desk-nominated performance in The Roundabout’s The Paris Letter. On television, he plays the role of Deputy Warden EB Tiller on Fox’s Alcatraz.

Quaid has appeared on Broadway in Equus and Off-Broadway in such plays as Galileo, The Illusion, Happy Hour, and The Witch of Edmonton. Cory Michael Smith’s stage credits include The Whale and The Shaggs: Philosophy of the World. Cotter Smith has performed on Broadway in Next Fall, An American Daughter, and Burn This.
