Happy 50ish!, a "midlife crisis musical comedy," will make its off-Broadway premiere at the Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row this summer. Performances will begin July 15 in advance of a July 26 press opening and will run through August 30.

Created by Lynn Shore, Mark Vogel, and David Burnham, Happy 50ish! revolves around Bob’s surprise 50th birthday party. He’s arrived early for his party, his wife is running late, and there’s a backyard full of party guests, but as he turns the big 5-0, he learns to laugh and make fun of all the things that inevitably come with age.

Directed and choreographed by Paul Stancato, the cast of the new musical features cocreators Lynn Shore and Mark Vogel.

Shore is an actor, musician, and author whose regional credits include The Wizard of Oz (Garden Grove Civic), Godspell (Starlight Bowl in San Diego), The Sound of Music (Starlight Bowl in San Diego), and the West Coast premiere of Babe's in Toyland (San Diego's Fox Theater). Vogel is a BMI-winning television and film composer, and a performer, music director, and producer. He started his network television career on Full House as a member of Jesse and the Rippers, starring John Stamos.
