Gary Busey to Play God in New Off-Broadway Musical

Oscar nominee Gary Busey will return to the stage in Only Human, a new musical beginning performances October 8 at the Theatre at St. Clements. The production will open October 21.
In the production, which follows what happens when Jesus and Lucifer become enemies, Busey will play God. "God is everything love is, and that love becomes the beginning of blessings and miracles," Busey said in a statement. "Playing this role of God is easy because I'm not acting, I'm just believing. You come see it and you'll believe it too."
Only Human features a book by Jess Carson, and music and lyrics by Mike Squillante, based on a story by Jesse Murphy and Mike Squillante. The production is choreographed by Josue Jasmin and directed by N.J. Agwuna. Adrià Barbosa is the musical director. Additional information will be announced in the coming weeks.
