BroadwayHD has announced plans to livestream the new off-Broadway musical Ernest Shackleton Loves Me on June 7 at 8pm EDT, with a pre-show feature beginning at 7:45pm EDT. The show will then be available on BroadwayHD.com for an on-demand encore until June 24.

Ernest Shackleton Loves Me is directed by Lisa Peterson and written by Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro (Memphis), with music composed by Brendan Milburn and lyrics by Valerie Vigoda. The production is set to play at the Tony Kiser Theater through June 11.

Described as an "innovative, high-tech adventure," Ernest Shackleton Loves Me "tells the story of a sleep-deprived single mom who struggles to work as a video game music composer. Unexpectedly, she is contacted across time by the famous polar explorer Ernest Shackleton. Inspired by her music, he shares his epic Antarctic journey with her in video and song." Electro-violinist Valerie Vigoda and Wade McCollum (Wicked) star in the production.

The creative team includes Alexander V. Nichols (production design), Chelsea Cook (costume design), Rob Kaplowitz (sound design and original compositions). The show was originally co-commissioned by Theatre Works and La Jolla Playhouse.

For BroadwayHD, Ernest Shackleton Loves Me marks the streaming service’s 10th live stream, following live stream productions of She Loves Me, Holiday Inn, The New Irving Berlin Musical, and more. This summer, BroadwayHD will be adding multiple titles to its on-demand library including, On the Exhale, Daddy Long Legs, and If I Forget.
