The Shakespearean Jazz Show, an ensemble of multidisciplinary artists who put Shakespeare to a New Orleans jazz beat, are set to play at the Cell on November 30 at 7pm and 9pm. The event will be directed by Alex Ates, with musical direction by Patrick Greeley.

The show most recently played at the Cell in June and has also played at the New Orleans Shakespeare Festival, ArtsEmerson: The World on Stage, and Outside the Box. The original, ensemble-created show features 2015 Tony Award nominee, Emily Skeggs (Fun Home).

Founded in Boston by Skeggs and her bandmates when they were students at Emerson College and Berklee College of Music, The Shakespearean Jazz Show takes some of the Bard's finest sonnets and sets them to enchanting musical accompaniments. In addition to Skeggs, the cast includes Adrian Aiello, Tyler Catanella, Sheldon Brown, Jemila Dunham, Patrick Greeley, Jenna Rogalski, Adam Salameh, and Max Sangerman.

The Shakespearean Jazz Show has released a cast album, which is available on the show’s website, shakespeareanjazzshow.com and Spotify.
