Jason Odell Williams' Church & State Moves Back New World Stages Opening
Markus Potter directs the New York premiere.
The opening night date for the New York premiere of Jason Odell Williams' Church & State has been moved from March 20 to March 27 because of artistic adjustments, the show has announced. Directed by Markus Potter, performances began March 3 at New World Stages.
The show's company includes Rob Nagle, Nadia Bowers, Christa Scott-Reed, and Jonathan Louis Dent. The creative team comprises David Goldstein (scenic design), Burke Brown (lighting design), Dianne K. Graebner (costume design), and Erik T. Lawson (sound design). Casting is by Wojcik-Seay Casting. Brierpatch Productions provides general management.
Church & State is described as a "fast-paced, seriously funny take on faith, politics, and "The Twitter." It's three days before Charles Whitmore's Senate reelection, and he's decided to finally tell the public exactly what's on his mind, no filter. What could possibly go wrong?"
