Sam Shepard's Buried Child Launches Mobile Lottery
The New Group has announced a mobile lottery for Sam Shepard’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Buried Child, running from February 2-March 27 at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
The lottery will offer $25 tickets via the TodayTix app for preview performances and $30 for performances after opening night on February 17. The entry period begins each day at 12:01am, and continues until winners are notified via push notification 3-4 hours before the selected performance begins. Tickets will be available for pick-up at will call one hour before curtain. Seat locations are subject to availability.
Directed by Scott Elliott, the production will feature Oscar and Tony nominee Ed Harris (Pollock) as Dodge, Golden Globe Award winner and Harris' wife Amy Madigan (Field of Dreams) as Halie, Rich Sommer (Mad Men) and Paul Sparks (House of Cards) as their sons Bradley and Tilden, respectively, Nat Wolff (Paper Towns) as their grandson Vince, Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) as Vince's girlfriend Shelly, and Larry Pine (Casa Valentina) as Father Dewis.
Buried Child returns to the city 20 years after its last major New York production. The plot is described as follows: "Dodge and Halie are barely hanging on to their farmland and their sanity while looking after their two wayward grown sons Tilden and Bradley. When their grandson Vince arrives with his girlfriend Shelly, no one seems to recognize him, and confusion abounds. As Vince tries to make sense of the chaos, the rest of the family dances around a deep, dark secret. This wildly poetic and cuttingly funny take on the American family drama gleefully pulls apart the threadbare deluded visions of our families and our homes."
