Matthew Rhys to Star in Roundabout Theatre Company’s Look Back in Anger

Matthew Rhys will star as Jimmy in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s production of John Osborne’s Look Back in Anger, to play the Laura Pels Theatre, January 13-April 8. The production, to open officially on February 2, will be directed by Sam Gold.


The show, which debuted in England in 1956, focuses on four people struggling to live together and love each other in 1950s England.


The cast will feature Adam Driver (Cliff), Sarah Goldberg (Allison), and Anastasia Griffith (Helena). The design team includes Andrew Lieberman (sets), David Zinn (costumes), Mark Barton (lights), and Bray Poor (sound).


Rhys, who will make his New York stage debut, starred in the West End in The Graduate. He is best known for playing Kevin Walker on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters. His other film and television credits include Backup, Love and Other Disasters, The Edge of Love, and Luster.
