Kevin Earley has now permanently assumed the role of Prince Sirki/Death in the Roundabout Theatre Company production of the world premiere musical Death Takes a Holiday at the Laura Pels Theatre. He replaces Julian Ovenden, who has been suffering from layringitis since July 19. Earley has played the role since then.

The musical, which is based on the dramatic play by Alberto Casell and rewritten for the American stage by Walter Ferris, features a book by Thomas Meehan and Peter Stone, and a score by Maury Yeston. Doug Hughes has directed the production.

In the show, Death arrives at an Italian villa, disguised as a handsome young Prince, and for the first time experiences the joys and heartbreaks of life, including falling in love with a newly engaged young woman.

The cast includes Linda Balgord (Contessa Danielli), Matt Cavenaugh (Eric Fenton), Mara Davi (Alice), Joy Hermalyn (Cora), Jay Jaski (Lorenzo), Simon Jones (Dr. Dario Albione), Rebecca Luker (Duchess Lamberti), Patricia Noonan (Sophia), Jill Paice (Grazia), Michael Siberry (Duke Lamberti), Alexandra Socha (Daisy Fenton), Don Stephenson (Fidele), and Max Von Essen (Corrado Montelli).
