Michael Wilson to Direct Christopher Shinn’s Picked at Vineyard Theatre

Michael Wilson will direct the world-premiere of Christopher Shinn’s Picked, at the Vineyard Theatre with previews beginning April 5 in anticipation of an April 20 opening. Cast and creative team will be announced at a later date.

The play concerns a young actor who prepares for his life to change when a legendary director casts him as the lead in a big-budget Hollywood movie.

Wilson won Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for his direction of Horton Foote’s The Orphan’s Home Cycle. He is currently represented Off-Broadway by The Milk Train Doesn’t Stop Here Anymore. Broadway directing credits include Dividing the Estate, Enchanted April, and Old Acquaintance. He is currently completing his final season as the artistic director of artistic director of Hartford Stage.
