Ben Davis, Anthony Fedorov, Elena Shaddow and More Cast in Paper Mill’s Sound of Music

Ben Davis – a Tony winner for La Boheme – and Broadway veteran Elena Shaddow will lead the Paper Mill Playhouse cast of the Rodgers and Hammerstein favorite, The Sound of Music, as Captain Georg von Trapp and Maria, respectively. James Brennan is directing and choreographing the production, which runs November 23-December 30, with an opening on November 25.

The beloved musical centers on a postulant in an Austrian convent who becomes governess to the children of a strict military man. The two unexpectedly fall in love as the imminent outbreak of the second world war threatens to destroy everything they hold dear.

American Idol finalist Anthony Fedorov will be playing the role of Rolf, with additional principal roles played by Edward Hibbert as Max, Donna English as Elsa Schraeder, Suzanne Ishee as Mother Abbess, and Joy Franz as Frau Schmidt. The Von Trapp children will include Chelsea Morgan Stock as Liesl, Gracie Beardsley as Marta, Greta Clark as Gretl, Maya Fortgang as Brigitta, Amanda Harris as Louisa, Hunter A. Kovacs as Kurt and Sean McManus as Friedrich.

Rounding out the cast are Ashley Kate Adams, Duke Anderson, Allison Blackwell (Sister Sophia), Jonathan Charette, Christine Cornell, Patrick David, Margaret Dietrich, Maggie Finnegan, Osborn Focht (Herr Zeller), Kera Halbersleben, Jenavene Hester, Dennis Holland (Baron Elberfeld), Norah Long, Robin Lounsbury, Anna McCarthy, Don Noble (Admiral von Schreiber), Jeannie Shubitz (Sister Margaretta), Adam Soniak, Chris Stevens, Mary Stout (Sister Berthe), Sally Ann Swarm and Nadine Zahr (Baroness Elberfeld).

The creative team will include music director Tom Helm, scenic designer James Fouchard, costume coordinator Amanda Seymour, lighting designer F. Mitchell Dana, sound designer Randy Hansen and hair/wig designer Leah Loukas.
