Working Theatre to Honor Sarandon and Others

The Drama Desk Award-winning Working Theatre, dedicated to producing culturally diverse plays exploring the lives of working people, will present its annual awards ceremony on Monday, June 2. Among those honored for their commitment to bridging the gaps between art, labor, and community will be film star Susan Sarandon, who appeared Off-Broadway in The Guys last season. The other honorees: Michael Goodwin (international president of the Office and Professional Employees International Union), Bill Perkins (New York City council deputy majority leader), and Eleanor Tilson (executive director of Local 1199 SEIU National Benefit and Pension Fund).

The ceremony will begin with cocktails at 7pm and will feature comedy by Hazelle Goodman. Tickets, priced at $175 (unreserved seats) or $250 (reserved seats), may be obtained by phoning 212-359-5675.
