Tony Award Winner Marian Mercer Has Died

Marian Mercer, who won the Tony Award for her portrayal of Marge MacDougall in the original Broadway production of Promises, Promises, has died at age 75, according to The New York Times.

Mercer’s many stage credits include Fiorello, Stop the World – I Want to Get Off, Little Mary Sunshine, Twelfth Night A Midsummer Night’s Dream and A Streetcar Named Desire.

Her many television credits include It’s a Living, St. Elsewhere, Archie Bunker’s Place and The Golden Girls.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Hogan, her sister, Marjorie Keith, and a daughter, Deidre Whitaker.
