Forbidden Acts at Drama Book Shop

Ben Hodges, editor of Forbidden Acts: Pioneering Gay and Lesbian Plays of the 20th Century, will appear for a reading and book signing on Monday, November 24 at 6pm in the Arthur Seelen Theatre at the Drama Book Shop (250 West 40th Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues).

The anthology includes The God of Venegeance by Sholom Ash (1918), The Captive by Edouard Bourdet (1926), The Children’s Hour by Lillian Hellman (1933), Oscar Wilde by Leslie and Sewell Stokes (1938), The Immoralist by Ruth and Augustus Goetz (1954), The Killing of Sister George by Frank Marcus (1967), The Boys in the Band by Mart Crowley (1968), Bent by Martin Sherman (1978), As Is by William Hoffman (1985), and Love! Valour! Compassion! by Terrence McNally (1994).

Hodges is an associate editor of the Theatre World series of volumes, a member of the Theatre World Awards board, and executive producer of the Theatre World Awards ceremony. He is also managing director of Fat Chance Productions, Inc. and the Ground Floor Theatre.
