TAP (Theatre Access Project), a program of the Theatre Development Fund (TDF) designed to assist theatergoers with hearing impairments, has released its schedule of upcoming performances of shows to be interpreted in American Sign Language and/or enhanced with open captions.
Upcoming open-captioned performances include Movin’ Out (Wednesday, March 26 at 2pm); Adult Entertainment (Sunday, March 30 at 6pm); Enchanted April (Saturday, April 12 at 2pm), Urban Cowboy (Saturday, April 19 at 2pm); Humble Boy at Manhattan Theatre Club (Saturday, June 7 at 2:30pm); and
Man of La Mancha (Wednesday, June 11 at 8pm).
The performances to be interpreted in ASL are Urban Cowboy (Wednesday, April 9 at 8pm); Aida (Tuesday, June 3 at 8pm); Thoroughly Modern Millie (Friday, June 6 at 8pm); and Man of La Mancha (Sunday, June 15 at 3pm).
Upcoming performances that will offer both open captioning and ASL interpretation are A Year With Frog and Toad (Saturday, May 17 at 3:30pm) and Chicago (Saturday, May 3 at 2pm).
Theatergoers with disabilities may join TAP’s mailing list in order to obtain ticket offers to open-captioned and sign language interpreted performances. All available seats are in full view of either the open-caption display or the interpreters. There is no fee to join the mailing list.
