Former Sopranos stars Aida Turturro and Vincent Pastore will join the cast of the long-running Broadway revival of Chicago, November 19-January 13, according to The Associated Press.
Turturro, who portrayed Janice Soprano on the HBO TV series, will play Matron “Mama” Morton, and Pastore, who played Sal “Big Pussy” Bompensiero, will play Amos Hart. They will replace Adriane Lenox and Rob Bartlett respectively.
Turturro appeared Off-Broadway in Theatre for a New Audience’s production of Souls of Naples (alongside her cousin, John Turturro,) while Pastore will be making his New York stage debut.
The musical, which will celebrate its 11th anniversary in November, features a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb. It is directed by Walter Bobbie, with choreography by Ann Reinking. In addition to Lenox and Bartlett, the current cast features Michelle DeJean as Roxie Hart, Brenda Braxton as Velma Kelly, Brian McKnight as Billy Flynn, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
