The Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the postponement of its production of August Strindberg’s classic Miss Julie, originally scheduled to start previews in January 2003.

“The production has been postponed due to various scheduling conflicts,” said a press representative for the Roundabout. “We don’t have a new date, but it won’t be done this season.”

Miss Julie, which was to be directed by David Leveaux, had already lost its star when Natasha Richardson backed out of the production a few weeks ago in order to do a film with husband Liam Neeson. Philip Seymour Hoffman was slated to co-star.
