It’s only Tuesday but it’s already been quite a week, what with two Broadway openings, a fabulous GMHC benefit concert, and other fun events. Here’s Helen Hunt at Laura Belle last night for the opening night party of Life x 3, in which she co-stars with John Turturro, Linda Emond, and Brent Spiner.
Among those on hand to celebrate with Hunt and her colleagues: Sex and the City‘s Mr. Big himself, Chris Noth…
…and The Sopranos‘ Aida Turturro (John’s cousin).
Kevin Kline was the surprise guest star enlisted for the opening night performance of The Play What I Wrote on Sunday, March 30. Here’s Kline (center, in drag) on stage with the show’s full-time stars, Sean Foley (left) and Hamish McColl (right).
Later, at the Blue Fin restaurant at the W Hotel for the The Play What I Wrote‘s opening night party, Kline chatted with Frank Gorshin, star of Say Goodnight Gracie.
Last night’s gala concert presentation of the Jerry Herman-Michael Stewart musical Mack & Mabel raised approximately $520,000 for Gay Men’s Health Crisis. One of the show’s stars was Donna McKechnie, who, in the company of the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, raised the roof with the “Tap Your Troubles Away” number. McKechnie is pictured here at the after party at Tavern on the Green.
Among the other Mack & Mabel performers partying at Tavern: Douglas Sills, who provided continuity by singing several of Mack’s songs…
…pals Debbie Gravitte and Jason Graae…
…the amazing Leslie Uggams…
…Hugh Panaro, who had also cavorted with the Rockettes during the show…
…Hairspray star Marissa Jaret Winokur, who adorably performed “Look What Happened to Mabel” with the Uptown Express subgroup of the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus…
…the great Donald Pippin, who conducted the Mack & Mabel concert…
…and the man of the hour, Jerry Herman.
Meanwhile, in another part of the city, Jim Caruso’s Cast Party filled the King Kong Room of The Supper Club to bursting with revelers. Frequent guest Natalie Douglas did a number of numbers, to the crowd’s delight…
….and Caruso spent some quality time with old pal Sally Mayes and new pal Matt Cavenaugh, two of the stars of the resurrected Urban Cowboy.
