The 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival has announced the slate of readings and partner events that will take place over the course of the month-long festival, running July 9-29. The readings will take place at the 45th Street Theatre Upstairs.
The readings include KT Peterson and Cedric D. Lyles’ 7:32 (July 10, 12); William F. Reed’s Affair of Honour (July 15, 17); Color Blind by Laura Cunningham, Lynn Szigeti, and Ken Martinak (July 23, 25); Cruel Shoes by Ross Patterson and David Simpatico (July 17, 19); Jennifer Shorstein and Benjamin Shorstein’s Happy Endings (July 10, 13); Howe & Hummel by Steve Frank and Kim Duncan, with Laurie Eliscu and Richard Gelbstein (July 18, 21); Hungarian Nights by Cheryl Kemeny and Mariner Pezza (July 24, 26); Madame: The Musical by Larry Hamilton, with David Levinson (July 16, 18); Sandy Wolf, Justin Melland, and Barney McClure’s Marina (July 26, 29); Michael Finke’s Reporting Live (July 25, 28); Sidekicks by Michael Kutner and Alexander Sage Oyen (July 12, 14); The Sugar Hill Sisters by Joseph Vernon-Banks and Bil Wright (July 20, 22); Erica Glenn’s The Weaver of Raveloe (July 11, 14); and Zelda by Colette Silvestri and Arthur Turner (July 24, 27).
Partner events include Musicals on Television: An Afternoon with Sheldon Harnick at the Paley Center for Media (25 West 52nd Street), which will feature an interview with the award-winning lyricist, as well as screenings of The Canterville Ghost (July 28 at 2pm) and She Loves Me (July 28 at 4pm).
