The New York City Dance Alliance has announced plans for the National Season Finale, which will take place June 28-July 5 at the Sheraton NY.
The event, which last year awarded a grand total of $2.9 million in college scholarships, hosts the country’s most promising up and coming dancers, offering them the chance to compete for college scholarships, participate in audition workshops with Broadway shows, take dance classes taught by some of the industry’s most celebrated instructors, and perform for leaders of the dance and entertainment communities.
From June 28-30, there will be rehearsals, adjudication sessions, and preliminary competitions leading up to the college scholarship auditions, which will take place on July 1. Then, from July 2-5, the event will feature a range of dance classes led by top professionals including choreographers Andy Blankenbuehler and Tony Testa.
The Closing Night Gala will take place on July 5 at 6:30 and feature performances from the students as well as special guest Broadway performers.
