A Portugese-language production of the hit musical Mamma Mia! will debut at Teatro Abril in Sao Paolo, Brazil. No casting has been announced.
The show, which focuses on a young bride-to-be trying to determine the identity of her father, is based on songs from the Swedish super group ABBA, with music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The show is written by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd, with choreography by Anthony Van Laast. New sets and costumes will be designed for this production.
