La Scala, the world-famous opera house in Milan, Italy, has announced details for its 2011-2012 season.
Among the offerings will be Robert Carsen’s productions of Don Giovanni and Les Comtes de Hoffman; Luc Bondy’s production of Tosca; Laurent Pelly’s production of Manon; Richard Jones’ production of Peter Grimes; Guy Cassiers’ production of Siegfried; and Franco Zefferelli’s productions of Aida and La Boheme.
Singers who are scheduled to appear this season will include Marcelo Alvarez, Nathalie Dessay, Angela Gheorgiu, Anna Netrebko, Daniel Okulitch, Matthew Polenzani, and Ramon Vargas.
