The Melting Pot Theater Company has announced a gala benefit dinner and concert titled Tonight at Eight: A Celebration of the Musicals of Bock & Harnick, to be held at The Supper Club on Monday, April 21.
As part of the gala, Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick — the composing team responsible for such musicals as Fiddler on the Roof, Fiorello, Tenderloin, She Loves Me, The Apple Tree, and The Rothschilds — will receive the Melting Pot’s third annual Pioneer Award.
Among those scheduled to appear at the event are F. Murray Abraham (Triumph of Love, Angels in America), André De Shields (The Full Monty, Ain’t Misbehavin’), Boyd Gaines (Contact, She Loves Me), John Kander (composer of Chicago and Cabaret), Judy Kuhn (She Loves Me, Les Misérables), Adriane Lenox (Kiss Me, Kate, Dinah Was), Julia Murney (A Class Act and Time and Again at Manhattan Theatre Club), Kerry O’Malley (Dublin Carol, Into the Woods), and Emily Skinner (My Life With Albertine, Side Show).
The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30pm, followed by dinner at 7:30pm and the concert and award presentation at 8:30pm; tickets are available at $250 and $500, and may be reserved by phoning 212-330-7211. The Supper Club is located at 240 West 47th Street in Manhattan.
