Mary-Louise Parker, the Tony Award winning actress who has starred on Broadway in such shows as Proof and Bus Stop, has been confirmed to star in the Second Stage Theatre revival of Craig Lucas’s 1983 play Reckless this fall. The production will be directed by Mark Brokaw (Music From a Sparkling Planet, Lobby Hero).
Parker will appear in the leading role of Rachel, who discovers on Christmas Eve that her husband has hired someone to kill her. The part was played by Mia Farrow in the 1995 film version of Reckless, which also featured Parker in the role of Pooty. One of Parker’s first major credits was Lucas’s Prelude to a Kiss, in which she co-starred both Off-Broadway (opposite Alec Baldwin) and on Broadway (opposite Timothy Hutton).
