Voice & Vision has announced the reading and performance projects to be presented as part of its 2009 Envision Lab, at the Ohio Theatre.
The series will begin with a reading of Charity Henson-Ballard’s The Quiver of Children (May 12 at 7:30 pm), about a family coming to terms with its secrets following the brutal death of the family matriarch. Next will be a reading of Lenora Champagne’s Staying Afloat (May 19 at 7:30 pm), in which two women find themselves stranded on an iceberg — with a polar bear. The series will conclude with Karen Finley performing Impulse to Suck (May 26 at 7:30 pm), inspired by Eliot Spitzer’s March 10 speech, apologizing for his implication in a prostitution ring.
All events are free and open to the public. To RSVP, call 212-268-3717. For more information, visit www.vandv.org.
