Performers have been announced for the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards, honoring Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway, to be held at NYU Skirball Center on Sunday, May 6 at 7pm.
As previously reported, Tony Award winner Laura Benanti will present the Lifetime Achievement Award to producer Richard Frankel and also perform.
Performers will also include The Broadway Boys, a collection of the hottest male voices currently working on the New York stage, and the 2012 Lucille Lortel Award recipients for Outstanding Alternative Theatrical Experience, Voca People.
This year’s show will be directed by Michael Heitzman, with musical direction by Henry Aronson and choreography by AC Ciulla. Featured dancers include Brad Barnes, Marc Heitzman, Ricky Kuperman, Reed Luplau, Sean McKnight, Holly Shunkey and Matthew Tiberi.
As previously announced, the ceremony will be hosted by Mario Cantone, and Academy Award winner Willem Dafoe will induct Richard Foreman onto the famed Playwrights’ Sidewalk.
There will also be presentations or appearances by Alexis Bledel, Christian Borle, Michael Cerveris, Will Chase, Anna Chlumsky, Oliver Chris, Hugh Dancy, Paige Davis, Tate Donovan, Halley Feiffer, Steve Guttenberg, Rose Hemingway, Steve Kazee, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Fran Kranz, Norm Lewis, Lucy Liu, Constantine Maroulis, Cristin Milioti, Patrick Page, Annie Parisse, Sarah Paulson, Condola Rashad, Jeremy Shamos, Michelle Trachtenberg and Josh Young.
As previously reported, the musical Once, which premiered at New York Theatre Workshop in December prior to transferring to Broadway’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, leads the field with seven nominations, including one for Outstanding Musical.
