Playwright Jennifer Haley has won 2012 Susan Smith Blackburn prize for her play The Nether, according to Variety. The award comes with a $20,000 prize.
The work follows a young detective on the trail of a criminal purveyor of virtual-reality fantasy scenarios. It was nominated by the L.A.’s Center Theater Group.
Haley’s other work includes Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom, which was seen at the 2008 Humana Festival, Breadcrumbs, and Froggy.
