Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding — the Big Mama of interactive stage comedies, produced by TheaterMania co-founder Joe Corcoran — will end its 15-year Off-Broadway run this May. Our photographer Joseph Marzullo attended a recent performance and caught the hilarity of the “wedding reception” at Vinnie Black’s Coliseum (a.k.a. the basement of the Edison Hotel). Here, Tony (Scott Bielecky) and Tina (Kelly Cinnante) share a special moment.
As anyone who has ever attended will tell you, Italian-American wedding receptions can get kinda wild. Here, Tina parties on with her gay brother, Joey (Michael Gargani).
Tony’s father gets down with his girlfriend, Madeline Monroe (Denise Fennell)…
…much to the dismay of Grandma Nunzio, who is probably thinking to herself: “Disgraziata putana!”
When families collide: Mr. Nunzio dances with Mrs. Vitale.
Where else but at Tony n’ Tina’s wedding reception would you find a nun in a conga line?
Rough customers: Tony and his buddies.
Tina and her girlfriends smile for the camera, but the lady at left seems to be thinking: “Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.”
Getting it all on tape is videographer Rick DeMarco (Gregory Allan Bock), who also happens to be Tina’s brother’s boyfriend — but nobody’s supposed to know that.
