The first awards of the season, the Drama League Awards, will be presented during a luncheon on Friday, May 9 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel (Park Avenue South at Grand Central Station). The ceremony will be hosted by Harvey Fierstein (Hairspray) and will feature stars of Broadway and Off-Broadway as presenters.
Each year, the Drama League Awards recognize productions and performances both on and Off-Broadway. Unlike most other theater honors, the winners are chosen by theatergoers and audience members. All proceeds from the May 9 ceremony will benefit the Drama League’s Directors Project.
The awards have an eligibility cut-off date of April 26, and the nominations will be announced on April 28. For more information, visit the website www.dramaleague.org.
