Cirque du Soleil’s Ovo will play a limited engagement under its trademark blue-and-yellow Grand Chapiteau (Big Top), located at the Santa Monica Pier, beginning January 20. Renowned Brazilian choreographer Deborah Colker has written and directed the piece.

The production is described by the company as being “a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.” The action of Ovo is set in motion when a mysterious egg appears in the insects’ midst.
